About the role
Youll work with a team of high-performing engineers delivering innovative solutions to a range of client challenges, particularly in the areas of public safety, industry and defence. Youll conduct research and product development activities relating to explosive blast, shock physics, reactive flows, compressible-flow computational fluid dynamics, and structural response to blast through application of new models and modification of existing codes. You will contribute to, and prepare, technical reports and scientific publications.
You will build relationships with internal and external clients, be hands on in assessing complex problems, and help build the business. Meanwhile, youll stay focused on your own Continuous Professional Development, actively seeking out opportunities to enhance your expertise and keep your skills fully up to date.
Have a Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace).
Maintain registration as an Engineer-in-Training or Registered/Licensed Professional Engineer with Engineers Nova Scotia or other Canadian professional engineering association.
Demonstrated research skills in fluid dynamics (compressible flows), thermodynamics, and chemistry. Experience in explosion/shock/blast physics, or a related area, of particular interest.
Demonstrated experience in the development/application of CFD models.
Demonstrated experience in the analysis of structural response to highly dynamic loads, and experience in using FEA tools such as LS-DYNA, considered an asset.
Experience in computer programming. Experience in CFD code development considered an asset.
Working knowledge of Linux OS and experience in parallel/scientific computing considered an asset.
Experience working in a consulting environment considered an asset.
Be eligible for Personal Security Clearance with the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate (Mandatory)
